The FebLab Cohort was spawned from our February Fest in 2024. Craving a more overtly collaborative process, FKT changed the program from simply a festival of short plays presented virtually, to a full cohort/developmental process!

 

The cohort consists of three teams, each with a playwright, a director, a dramaturg, and multiple (usually two) actors. We also have one or more festival designers  who will work with all three groups to edit their projects, to spend January and February creating a completely original digital theatre piece around a theme to be presented over live-stream, along with an in-person viewing party in New York City. Past themes have been Match Made in Hell and Shed Your Skin. 

 

FebLab is all about matchmaking artists of multiple disciplines together not only within the weeks of the cohort but beyond! Many FebLab Participants have gone on to continue their collaborations and create all new projects long after the cohort has finished!
